There are general belief that to prevent road accidents is by increasing the minimum legal age for driving either cars or motorcycles. Although this seem like easier policy to be implemented, the cause of traffic accident are more complex than that. Hence, I disagree with this statement because of two reasons.
To begin with, one of the main cause of traffic accidents are careless driver which can come from every age. Nowadays, vehicles are accessible by people in every circumstances which can led to drunk driver. For example, adult who are driving while under alcohol influence can cause to a conundrum accident on the road. As a result, another driver, pedestrian, or even standstill thing like a house or store have a potential as a victim to this hazardous situation.
Furthermore, the other policy that need to be implemented to ensure road safety is from a system itself which are the clearance of the road and the rigid rule from the city. In many cities or rural areas, there are several road that do not meet the eligibility as a safety road. In addition, traffic rule can easily bent by its citizen especially prominent figures that come from affluent family. For example, many cases today are happen when a driver bribe the police officer to easily get away with law.
In conclusion, careless driver and traffic rule and safety are the most crucial factors to ensure the safety of the road. The law to prevent people with alcoholic habit have an access to cars or motorcycle need to be implement effectively as well as other traffic law. Become a law abiding citizen are crucial not only for the sake of ourselves but for other as well.
