In recent times, the issue of travelling has become a popular topic. In this regard, some people think that the government should spend more in public transportation, while other people put forward the idea of improving road infrastructure. I think both parties are right, however focusing on the public transportation first is a better idea.
On the one hand, improved public transportation can be advantageous. As more private car owners use buses or subways, highways stay free of heavy bumper-to-bumper traffic, making travelling faster and saving time spent on traffic jams in rush hours. Secondly, the level of pollution in cities can be reduced. This can occur when the number of engines on the roads is reduced. For example, numerous commuters can travel to work on a single bus.
On the other hand, enhancing the infrastructure of cities can prevent traffic congestion, and as a result people spend less time on travelling, allowing people to choose a traffic-free route. In consequence, people can reach their destination faster without being anxious. Furthermore, car accidents can also be avoided, when the number of cars on the roads is reduced and the standard of roads is improved. For instance, there can be more adequate road signs, and in this way the safety level while travelling can be raised.
However, i am in favour of the former viewpoint. i think, providing people with an excellent public transportation can bring better results both for the environment and people. As this brings about less travelling with private cars, making roads free of traffic. Moreover, it can also be beneficial for people, as travelling in a private car can also be costly. For example, people do not worry about other expenses such as petrol fees and parking.
In conclusion, both actions are highly valued. However, people opting public transportation over enhanced roads can enjoy more benefits than their counterparts.
