Recently, there has been a lot of buzz from the residents that government should invest more in public services, such as healthcare and education, instead of investing money on arts. In my opinion, the amount should be invested equally in both public services and arts (i.e. Cultural activities, Concert, Cinema, Museum)
One main reason why public services should be prioritized is due to the inflation and lack of jobs in the country. Inflation has made it very difficult for residents to afford private education, healthcare, personal transports–increase in petrol prices, and much more. Government can spend money in making quality Hospitals, Schools, Universities, great means of Transports so people can take advantage of these facilities and can save a lot of money in this era of inflation.
On the same side, we can’t risk giving up on the Arts sector, because if we gave up on the art sector we’ll lose tourists and tourists are one of the main sources of income for the country. Additionally, local residents also spend time going out for various activities such as going to a cinema, concert, different cultural activities.
Considering all this, i think government should follow a scheme in which both public and art services are given equal priority so both sectors are treated with correct investments. This way there will be no loss to both the government and the people. Nonetheless, the final call will be from the government, and it remains to be seen how government will handle this situation.
