First of all I want to mention that the disagreement on this topic is completely normal, since people form their opinion on this topic from different perspectives.
The thing that some people believe that government should spend more money putting up cameras on the streets is completely understandable since it would reduce the number of crimes as it will be harder for people to take illegal actions unnoticed, second it will help in investigations making the police’s job easier and the people that were harmed can get refunded or just their justice. This is especially helpful in dealing with such cases like kidnapping since it is a global problem and kids are not able to protect themselves.
On the other hand, the increase in number of video recording devices in public spaces could make people uncomfortable as it interferes with their private lives that which may be found disturbing by some individuals as they would like their privacy not to be taken away. So their protest on this topic should also be considered valid.
In my opinion, I want to say that while both points are valid , but I tend to think that extending watched public places is more likely to be efficient and could provide conditions for government to make safer spaces for everyone. Thus I think we can make our safety more important than privacy but not completely neglect it . We still can manage to keep private life discrete if government manages the collected data to be used properly and does not allows to violate sacred rights of people.
At last, let’s generalise and give conclusion, so as both opinions on topic view various aspects of human life the law must consider them both and draw conclusions based on that, providing security and protection for all citizens.
