These days, the vast majority of people are moving to cities by leaving their villages. Some people consider that there are some possible problems compared to its benefits. Although I agree that migration to the cities brings some advantages, I am not convinced that benefits are equally distributed among all citizens, which shows my partial disagreement. In this essay, I will provide some reasons why I hold this view.
To a certain extent, I agree with the idea that moving to cities may cause several issues, but I think cities often tend to offer more job opportunities, which attracts people in search of work, leading to an economic boost, as industries grow, innovate, and create wealth. Another benefit is that cities are usually diverse, bringing people from different backgrounds. This often creates opportunities for cultural exchange, encouraging people to be creative and innovative and to enrich their social life. These advantages can benefit not only the city but also it is crucial aspect to develop the city.
Despite those benefits, we should not miss some problems of massive migration from rural areas to the developed cities. One of the obvious issue is that cities may become overcrowded and rising higher demand for transportation that may lead to air pollution. In addition, housing shortages might be another issue that the city may face. In order to provide enough accommodations for migrants, the city often loses its green spaces to build the new houses that can negatively influence ecosystems and contribute to climate change.
Overall, while there might be some problems with moving to cities like overpopulation and housing shortages, we should not overlook the advantages as well, such as advancements of economy or exchanging cultures, which shows, why I partially disagree.
