There is an allegedly negative phenomenon that expertises at social media, especially on one of the most renowned social platforms – TikTok, can gain the public’s recognition more compared to those who can excel in diverse fields except for social media. From my viewpoint, I completely subscribe to the aforementioned assertion since it can set the scene for the widespread misunderstanding and the unfairness between amateurs and professionals.
First and foremost, there is a segment of professionals in social media who have a wide range of knowledge endeavors to share and spread their knowledge to the outside world. However, due to their lack of in-depth understanding, it can give rise to the emergence of false information as well as fabrications, leading to the miscomprehension among the public. Additionally, since the number of children is continually escalating, it can cause minor or even serious accidents when youngsters stand trial for scientific experiments they run into on the Internet. A famous example was in China where children try to make hand-made popcorn and they are eventually involved in a severe accident.
Furthermore, another point worth noting is that the idolatry of overrated influencers on the Internet is liable to cause unfairness between amateurs and expertises. In other words, those who seriously delve into a variety of fields and devote little time to building up their images on the Internet can suffer from the unfairness, resulting in a decline in motivation as well as inspiration to continue their works. Moreover, the extreme admirations of the Internet influencers can even lead them to overrate themselves, delude themselves about their true abilities.
In conclusion, this uprising trend can give rise to deleterious repercussions, consisting of unfairness as well as widespread misunderstanding. Personally, I also have to admit that influencers acknowledge how to inspire people and excel in interpersonal skills. Due to this reason, to address the problems, they should work together since they can offset each other’s weaknesses.
