The issue of whether university education should be free has been widely debated.some people believe that higher education should be provided at no cost, while others argue that students should bear the financial responsibility. In this essay, I will discuss both perspectives and present my personal opinion.

On the one hand supporters of free university education argue that it promotes equality and creates a fair society.additionally, tuition fees can be a significant barrier for students from low-income backgrounds, preventing them from completing their studies. Free education also allows more students to pursue higher education leading to a more knowledgeable and skilled workforce. For instance,Iceland is ranked among the top countries that provide free university education, making higher education accessible to both local and international students.

On the other hand, opponents believe that making university education free would impose a heavy financial burden on taxpayers, they argue that since students are the primary beneficiaries, they should contribute to the cost of their education. Moreover, paying tuition fees may increase students’ motivation to work harder and take their studies more seriously. For example, students who finance their own education often have higher graduation rates and better job opportunities, as they are more committed to their studies.

In my opinion, university education should be funded by the government, even if it creates some financial pressure. However, tuition fees should be minimal and affordable to ensure that all students have the opportunity to complete their higher education and achieve their ambitions.

In conclusion, university education should be accessible to all students. If governments impose fees, they should be kept at a reasonable level or shared between students and taxpayers to create a more effective and fair education system.
