The government’s decision whether higher education should be free or not has sparked a debate. While some think that this should be free, others argue that students should be independent concerning their fees tuition. In my opinion an intermediate position can be taken, to be clear the government could provide scholarships for top-performing students as well as reduce fees tuition for students.
First and foremost, providing scholarships for top-performing students in universities or colleges presents numerous advantages. This could promote excellence demonstrating high quality of students that could do research and some new innovation in various fields, for instance the USA presented one of the greatest healthcare systems in the world thanks to students’ research and innovation.
Furthermore, reducing students’ fees for tuition also sparks various benefits. Students from all walks of life could study with lower fees tuition and assist development of their country by doing some advanced research with high quality of devices which foster students to do their best.
To sum up, this essay addresses the question whether higher education should be free or not, i opt for an alternative position which is providing scholarships for top-performing students and reducing fees tuition.
