It is argued by some that tourists should be obey local traditions, while others believe that host regions should be embrace cultural difference. From my point of view, we should respect each other’s customary as well as accept the diversity at the same time.
On the one hand, some say that visitors must take note of local traditions. Because it is showing that respect and support to the native community. When we travel to the one country, we want to experience the difference and local culture, therefore, when we openly to comply the local rules, then we can utterly understand and experience the domestic culture and habitual. Additionally, it is also moral imperative to have respect for others. For example, when someone travel to the religious nation and go to their religious places, (such as church and mosque) then if they do not follow their cultural obedient just because that visitors claim they have dissimilar cultures, then it is undeniably disrespectful and rude.
On the other hand, some believe that it is crucial to host nations should accept the cultural diverseness. Because majority of tourists stay in host countries just for the short term, therefore, it is unreasonable to expect them follow all local normal and rules. As the visitors they want to understand the culture through the journey, hence, we need to give them freedom to explore and learn from the locals. For instance, when Western tourists are going to Asian countries, then go to the dining places and if the locals force them to use chopstick instead spoon or fork, then it is just impolite and unnecessary. Instead, locals can just offer them what they can use and just introduce them to their culture and traditions.
In conclusion, the acceptance diversity and obey the local rules are both crucial and considerable. I think we should respect each other, and balance situation consider both ways.
