Some people discuss that when visiting a foreign country, we should stick to their culture and follow their behavior. On the other hand another, a group of people disagree, saying the host country should welcome different cultures.
Referring to the first point of view, I believe that showing respect to the outside country and not judging their culture it’s not for discussion; this is because when we are being received in another territory that is not ours, the least we can do is show a little respect. I do not believe that it is necessary or obligatory to fully embody the foreign culture, but it is acceptable to learn from their traditions and experience some of it, without crossing a line.
Moving forward to the second opinion, my thoughts on it are that it is also important to welcome outsiders. Discrimination and xenophobia will never be tolerated. When visitors from other countries come to ours, we should see it as an opportunity to open ourselves to a new perspective of life and culture. I comprehend that some people do not want to practice other cultures, and some people do not want others practicing theirs. This is really common because following other cultures might be misinterpreted as cultural appropriation, mocking, or perhaps it does not align with some religions, as an example.
