A part of society think that plastic products should be replaced with more ecofriendly materials, such as glass. Although, plastic can be cheaper, it cause lots of environmental issues.
On the one hand, products made of plastics are much cheaper than glass ones, so even people from low class can afford plastic goods. For instance, coke in plastic bottle costs 0.5 dollars, while coke with bottle made of glass is twice expensive. Plastic products can withstand harsh climate and save its initial form even after 200 years, so its durability is one more reason to use plastic. Plastic also more convenience and lighter, as to why it is easier to move it and additionally we may recycle plastic which cannot be done with glass that is also dangerous for children and pets because of its sharpness after breaking.
On the other hand, plastic is considering as toxic product for environment on the grounds that it emits harmful substances for soil and water during decomposition. That is why mortality rate are increasing too. In other words, we eat food grew in this soil watered with this toxic water. However, not only we but also animals are challenging and most of them are in danger of extinction. Furthermore, accumulated and decomposed plastic may bring numerous problems and we will have to deal with their more dangerous version, so we should begin from now, till it is an early phase of the issue.
In conclusion, I believe that the use of plastic should depend on the field it is used. For example, in construction system of pipes plastic is most useful because it is much more durable rather than iron ones.
