Some poeple think that we should replace all plastic products with more environmentally-friendly materials, such as glass.
One major reason to replacing all plastic products is bad for environment. Plastics take long time disappear and often goes into the ocean or sea, hurting animals like fish. Glass is a better choice because it can be recycled many times. For example, in my city, many people use glass bottles, and they are able to clean and for using again. This helps reeduce waste. Also, glass is safe for storing plastics do.
However, glass has problems. It is heavyand can break easily. Once, I carried glass bottles, and one broke, making a mess. Transporting glass uses more fuel which is not good for the planet. Plastic is lighter and useful for some things, like keeping food fresh or making medical tools. In hospitals, plastic is important for things like syringes because it is cheap and safe to use.
I think we should replace single-use plastics, like bags and straws with glass. But for other items, like medical supplies, plastic is still needed. Governments should meke recycling better and use clean for glass production.
In conclusion, I support using more glass for some products to help the environment and it does not pollute. But we need a mix of materials to balance prcticality and sustainability. According to using glass for items are widespread in Italy.
