Several people think that animals that belong in the wilderness should not live in zoos made by human. While their argument sounds logical, there are always drawbacks and advantages to everything.
Capturing untamed animals and making them live in zoos could potentially save some of the animals from extinction. Especially if the animals they are targeting are already endangered species, this allows people to protect animals from hunters. Although they could observe and watch the animals closely in the wild, an encounter with hunters could probably result in a mild conflict between both parties. Moreover, keeping wild animals in zoos might prevent them from attacking human in the wilderness.
However, if people are bringing wild animals uncontrollably to zoos, that will only cause more problems than it will solve. Taking them away from their natural habitat could disrupt the natural life cycle, making certain species go extinct because they do not have anymore food, and others to drastically grow in numbers as they do not have predators preying on them anymore.
In my personal view, I believe it is better to let animals live in where they actually belong to and not to interrupt the food chain. Letting them live in the wild is extremely dangerous, but that is exactly what they are built for, some become predators, and some become the preys. And also, a number of zoos might not take a good care of the animals and treat them as if they are nothing. It is better if they are left alone out there.
