In this contemporary world, the question of whether young ones should make career choices without considering the future has sparked considerable debate. While some people agree with this view, others oppose it. In my opinion, I contend with the latter view.
On the one hand, a major reason why young adults should be allowed to make such decisions is to enable them to perform efficiently. This is owing to the fact that people tend to perform effectively if they choose their career of interests, as it will motivate them to be more productive and focused. For instance, according to a study conducted in the University of Portharcourt Nigeria, 70% percent of the workforce who are exceptional made such a decision without minding what the future holds, this improves their commitment to work. Therefore, it is paramount for youths to make such decisions to enhance productivity.
On the other hand, it is advisable to consider the future so as to mitigate job loss, which I support. The world is evolving and the use of modern technologies has increasingly become rampant in many organisations. As a result, numerous companies implore the services technologies to perform some tasks usually done by humans, limiting employment opportunities. Consequently, It is important for them to consider this trend for a better career prospectives. They may be subjected to financial challenges due to job displacement if they are not proactive. To illustrate, in some hospitality industries, Artificial intelligence takes up some roles such as Answering questions and serving guests, limiting opportunities for humans.
In conclusion, although making career choices without planning for the future is important as this motivates them to become productive, I believe that it is beneficial to consider the future so as to curb potential financial challenges.01:06
