Nowadays, some people suppose that youngsters have to be involved in politics, while others contend that focusing on diverse spheres of life is more advantageous for them. Although the latter opinion may have a benefit to an extent, I firmly assert the former leads juveniles to articulate their viewpoint assertively.
On the one hand, involving youngsters in various areas of life is likely to strengthen their further foundation, as they can expand their skill by exploring a wide range of opportunities. Diverse options encourage them to pursue different paths, increasing the likelihood of mastering specific areas of expertise. Hence, juveniles are better equipped to make clear and confident life decisions without feeling confused and uncertain. For example, a recent study in the USA shows that 90% of school students achieved their career aspirations because their school has offered varied activities, such as sports and arts, which helped them cultivate both competence and creativity.
On the other hand, however, politics often plays a more significant role for both young people and adults. This is to say that youth participation in politics is crucial, as it ensures their voices are represented in political discourse. In most cases, typically, older generations dominate political arenas, and it seems to me that younger voices are also important to be heard. This leads youth not only to give opportunities to bring their fresh perspectives, but also they can be more critical to political issues. For insctance, In Indonesia, many young people have shown a deep understanding about the recent political problems in the country, such as nepotism and corruption, and they become critical individuals through joining protests to fight the worst government’s attitude.
In conclusion, some individuals argue that youth should be involved in politics, while others believe that exploring various life aspects is likely to enhance the expanded framework. However, I strongly assert that political involvement is more merit, as expressing young people’s perspective through their voice.
