There is ongoing debate over whether stricter penalty shoud be given for driving offences. While others argue that other measures should be taken to improve road safety. I believe that raising awareness of road safety would be better than giving a stricter punishment.
on the one hand, some people believe that stricter punishment is the appropriate method to avoid driving violatons. This is because, if stricter rule such as penalty fee, or jail sentence is implemented, people will obey road safety rules. Thus , the number of road violations could be minimized. For instance, countries who have stricter rules like financial penalty or jail sentence, recorded minimum number of driving offences than other countries who don’t apply this rule. This is due to people fear to spend their time in prison and financial loss.
However, stricter rules such as jail sentence and penalty fee could be ineffective. Even though humans naturally fear to be in jail or to lose money, this can’t be a constructive action. These measures can have economic disruptions and negative impact on families. It can have financial strain on families of the jailed individuals can and it is unfair to penalize for a driver with low income. In my opinion, raising awareness of the society would be better. Teaching safe crossing for students in schools and communities and engaiging communities through education could play a significant role in running effective road use.
In conclusion, although implementing stricter rule is effective, but it couldn’t be a long-term solution. I believe promoting road safety in schools and communities can avoid road incidents and offences in the future .
