There has been discussions revolving around the issue whether young people should be punished the way as adults who comitted serious crimes. I tend to believe that younger generations’ crimes needs to be evaluated in the same way by following reasons.
Offenders have to take responsibility for the things they did despite their age. Actions happened and lead to concequences, like taking someones life or causing trauma for victim of sexual crime. If young people slip off the punishment, it may lead to string of the same or even worse offences, because they know that they would not face a trial. For example, there was case where two boys brutually murdered their classmate and did not recieved a penance, because of their age. But after, the same boys took a part in a robbery. So it is crucial to not include the age for the criminals who commited a crime.
Taking what I mentioned earlier, mother did not get a revenge, but a compensation. People whose loved ones became victims of offenders would know that criminals remains free, which would be unfair. Apologies or money compensation would not be able to diminish the rage, sorrow or the anguish of loosing someone important. It had to be taken into account when verdict for the offenders would be decleared.
In conclusion, I would argue that young criminals should recieve punishment the same way as an adults, because people who sit in the court should also consider the consequences of the crime for the future and people around the victims.
