Some people believe that for mature criminals should also be applied to offenders who are not old enough. I do not agree with this statement and this essay will discuss both reasons and examples.
One reason is that young offenders are likely to withstand lower penalties than adults. People who are not old, offenders such as theft or attack tend to recover psychologically and less resources than their mature partners. If they are punished or imprisoned for several years, they are more likely to develop psychological issues. Moreover, they can be bullied by adults in prison. As a result, if young criminals are punished in the same way as adults, it can lead to any results
Another reason is that adolescents often lack fully aware of the consequences of their crimes because they do not grow up. For example, young people involved in small theft often do not realize that they are guilty or they may participate in those acts for thrilling purposes without any knowledge of any illegal act. Perhaps these small people will restrain that behavior if they receive full instructions on penalties for illegal actions, instead of being punished immediately.
In contrast, mature criminals are more likely to commit crimes with full intent, which is why they should be more punishment.
In short, I believe that the penalty of adults who commit crimes without having to pay will not be fair because they will not be able to understand the consequences and struggle to handle the penalty. We should promote and prioritize the help and education to prevent crimes again and help them become a positive member of society.
