Nowadays, the role of university education is widely argued. Some think that it will help students to get a better job, others believe that there are a lot more advantages. This essay will argue that university degree has a lot of benefits, not only a well-paid job.

It is a fact that the more you study, the more you know. So, if a person wants to be a professional in something, they need to get as much knowledge as possible. And studying in a university helps with this. In reality, educated people are more likely to get good jobs after completing their degree. For example, my brother did 6 years of study in the university and got a better first job than his friend who studied in the same field, but for 4 years. Moreover, sometimes universities have contracts with some companies, therefore they can offer some positions to the students themselves. My classmate got this offer because she was a top student in the class, and she still works for that company successfully. Therefore, getting a better job is definitely an option if you have a degree.

On the other hand, there are many more benefits than this. Firstly, you get to know a lot of different things not only from your field of study, but also from others as well. Some universities still teach philosophy, maths, physics and other courses independently of your degree. Talking about my brother, he also studied philosophy in the university and it was one of his favorite subjects although he is a programmer. He still reads some philosophical books in his free time. Also, if more people complete a degree, then it will be better for the society as educated people are needed in every country. It is well known that the progress is faster if there are more intelligent people. So, studying in the university can help some people get knowledge in different spheres and be beneficial for others.

To conclude, getting a better job can be easier if you have a degree, however, studying is also helpful in other ways. In my opinion, education has broader perspectives than just getting a well-paid job. It can help you want to learn more and do something bigger for the society.
