Band 5+: Some people believe the purpose of education is to make people useful to society. Others believe it is to prepare them to achieve their ambitions. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

People have different views regarding whether the goal of the education should be for the benefit of the community or should be more related to the personal goals of the individuals. I personally think that a balance approach in which education serves both tracks is the ultimate solution.

Firstly, it is often thought that investing in education will help give back to the nation. For Instance, doctors are one of the main pillars of promoting public health. Another example are the engineers who build a strong infrastructure for the society. This shows that education is undeniably essential for the prosperity of the community as a whole. As a result, it fosters the quality of life and helps in decreasing poverty levels.

On the other hand, others think that the main motive of the education is to pursue your goals and ambitions.

This is due to the feeling of fulfillment that comes with achieving your dreams. Furthermore, education motivates people to reach what they want whether it is a financial goal or any other goals.

In conclusion, as I mentioned above, a balanced approach between both is ideal
