Unıversities provide very unique experiences for students. Students who select their university have different choices. For example, they can choose where unıversıty is and where they live. Some students prefer to live with family and others prefer to live in the dormitory. From my point of view, living in a dormitory has not only advantages but also disadvantages.
Dormitory life has some benefits for students. One of the first positive sides is that they can socialize easily with their peers. When students move to their dormitory room, they will adapt easily to their room, friends, and new school because all students want to socialize and meet with their schoolmates. Students can build good relationships thanks to dormitory life. Another advantage is that students can exploit university sources. Unıversity offers several opportunities for their students. Students who live in the dormitory can use the school’s cafeteria when they want to eat something. In addition, they can join different courses that the university offers for students such as tennis, knitting, or language courses. Students can improve their skills and hobbies due to these courses. Briefly, students who live in the dormitory can be more social and interactive with university sources.
Living in a dormitory also has some disadvantages. One of the first disadvantages is that students conflict with roommates. Generally, students can’t choose their roommate first year in the university. It can cause some issues with their roommate. For example, If someone has obsessive behavior about cleaning, she can’t live with dirty people or If someone studies with opening light until midnight in the room, it can disturb other roommates. Usually, they can’t change their roommates because of the rules. The other negative side of living dormitory is the expensive cost. Living with family is more affordable than a dormitory. When students live in the dormitory, they should pay more money for feeding and sheltering. Sometimes it can be challenging for parents. To summarize, dormitory life is more difficult and expensive for students.
In conclusion, dormitory life has both positive and negative effects. If students can avoid wasting and be more coherent with peers, living in the dormitory is a more beneficial and peaceful place.
