Nowadays, it can be seen that sufficient enough of waste is not recycled from homes. Most of the people say that a legal requirement is needed by the governments to increase recycling and it is believed to be the only to solve this. I will address my thoughts on this issue in the below.
I agree to the fact that to make people recycle more of their waste law and order are needed. Firstly, most of the people in our country are not aware of the environmental effects of their domestic wastage. I have seen many people drink water from a plastic bottle and throwing that bottle to a road. If there were strict law and punishment for this offence, then this act could have been reduced.
Government can create advertisements for TV where the importance of 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) is shown. From data, it is seen that tons of wastages are produced annually in our country Bangladesh. It is a matter of sorrow that very less amount of wastage is recycled of the produced wastes. It is due to our negligence for this matter. Government can promote recycling by proving incentives to those who recycle their wastage regularly.
It is not only governments duty to implement a law for this act but also it is our responsibility as a citizen to keep our surroundings clean. We should try to recycle as much as we can for our future generation. We can arrange awareness campaign for making people conscious about the harmful effects of the wastage we generate for different purposes. This wastage pollutes our environment and detrimental for our health. I think just by implementing strict laws against not recycling by government is not enough for stopping it. We as a citizen must be more responsible towards our duties towards our country.
