Education has always played an important role in the development of societies. Some believe that academic subjects should be the main priorities for teachers rather than concentrating on motivation. I disagree with this idea, as encouraging students and academic subjects are interconnected.
On the one hand, it is a common belief that teachers should place much emphasis on academic subjects. The primary reason is that knowledge gained at academic establishments enables students to succeed in their fields. When students are encouraged to learn only subjects that exist in their curriculum rather than motivating them, they may have more time to put in extra hours, helping them be an expert in their jobs. Furthermore, when teachers focus more on motivation, this can lead to the loss of students’ valuable time, which can be used for academic subjects.
On the other hand, teaching only academic subjects can be extremely boring. When students are forced to learn subjects that enhance their knowledge, this can discourage them, even causing them to give up in the long run. However, by informing them about the perspectives of different famous people, they can be inspired to adapt to academic subjects. Additionally, motivation can build a sense of self-confidence. After being motivated by teachers, students start to believe in themselves and can be aware of their potential to reach a certain level, fostering their self-esteem. As a result, they can succeed in their jobs without a sense of hesitation.
In conclusion, while academic subjects play a vital role in the success of students, motivation given by teachers should not be overlooked, as they are interconnected. It is hard to conclude one is more important than the other.
