Some people these days prefer to stay single. This passage with highlight why marriages are a
negative development on the society.
Although, marriages are coming together of 2 familes and time of great pomp and show for all the
people involved. But they do tend to be quite an expensive event. People tend to spend all of their
hard earned life savings in marriages of their children. A lot of people are involved from both sides.
People invest a lot of time and effort in getting 2 individuals married. But when that couple decides
to have a divorce all the effort, time and money spend by the people is wasted. Once the couple
gets divorce society starts judging their character. It acts as a yardstick for them to categorize the
individuals which further negatively impacts the society.
Due to divorces , sometimes individuals are bound to pay alimony in the form of money and
property which stops people from marrying. A bad marriage may results in impacting the mental
state of the both the girl and boy and even their children. Due to the high divorce rates, individuals
these days want to live independent life without any commitments to anyone. They prefer live in
partners over a life partner. They do not want any emotional bonding. If they feel they are not
happy with their partners they can break up mutually and both can be happy. But this does not
happen in marriages.
