All people around the world, no matter the country’s economic conditions, spend a tremendous amount of money on education. However, there is not always a guarantee of success or good job opportunities. In my opinion, people who do not have any talents or wide thinking should not waste their money on typical education programmes but instead be involved in some specific occupations that they can acknowledge in courses or be taught by their family members. Additionally, I will explore two main reasons why schools and their educational programmes are not suitable for everyone.
To begin with, schools only offer standard subjects, not giving a chance to add or eliminate any of them, forcing students to take unnecessary lessons. The consequence of this rule is not that pleasant, as educational authorities are capable of thinking. On the contrary, the system causes thousands of students to feel lost and out of their interested fields. My sister’s experience is a compelling example of that. She has always dreamt about becoming an archaeologist and working for National Geographic. Unfortunately, none of the schools in our country could offer extra classes related to the chosen area of interest.
Secondly, the most critical criteria of all schools, is that teachers are loading students’ brains with theories and not letting them gain experience. As a result, companies get a bunch of workers who know what to do but have no idea of how and when. It is impossible to become successful without having passion and desire for what you are doing, and of course it is obvious that you will never get them while doing the job you have zero skills and experience in. On the other hand, people who preferred skill development, part-time jobs and volunteering in the field they were most interested in could observe the mechanism from the inside. This also helps to ameliorate rudimentary comprehensions about the occupation and become a professional.
In conclusion, I strongly believe that wasting one decade of your life on meaningless subjects, which will never assist your future career, is definitely not worth it. In place of following the rules made by the society, we should follow our path to a prosperous life and further improvements.
