These days, many people give money to help others. Some people like to donate to local charities in their area. Others give money to big charities that help people in the whole country or even other countries. In this essay, I will explain both sides and give my opinion.
Some people prefer to give money to local charities because they can see the help directly. For example, if we give to a nearby old age home or orphanage, we can visit and see how our money is used. It gives us a good feeling. Also, we trust local people more because we know them. In Tamil Nadu, many people give to temples or local schools. We believe in helping our own area first.
On the other side, some people want to help big charities that work in many places. These charities help in big problems like floods, earthquakes, or war. They also help poor people in other countries. For example, during the coronavirus time, many international groups helped India with medicine and food. So, donating to them also helps many people.
In my opinion, it is better to start by helping local people. Our neighbours and people in our town need support. But if we have more money, we can also give to big charities. Both ways are good, but I feel local help is more close to heart.
In conclusion, some give to local groups, and some to big organizations. I think helping local people is better, but we can support both if possible.
