In today’s fast paced world, free time is extremally precious to everyone. While some people prefer to thoroughly plan their activities, others are more chill and they like to go with the flow. This essay will explore both points of view, but to me, a balanced approach of scheduling as well as leaving some area for flexibility is the best way to spend leisure time.
Numerous studies show that busy people tend to come up with detailed plans for their free time. They argue that they are not privileged with a lot of downtime to spend it in a very dull way. While busy people have a valid argument here, other people tend to believe that unplanned free time feels like a burden to them. For instance, if they have a sudden moments away from work with nothing to do, it will be difficult for them to enjoy it. Many of them claim that their current stress-planning for their breaks is a result of the way they were raised.
In contrast, many other people are adoptable and easy going in their free time. They believe that those moments are blessings, and detailed planning will defiantly make it feel like a burden and commitment. It is possible that they will start jumping from one activity to another without taking ant predefined agenda into consideration, Hence, they are more relaxed and easy to be around.
Personally, I find the balance between well planning while still leaving some space for life to surprise me works perfectly. Over planning might cause a lot of stress, yet going mindlessly without any direction in such time will make it feel like a waste. It is only through a pre-weighted way between those two approaches that I can perfectly indulge in my spare time.
