Band 6+: Some people say libraries are important in society as a place to get information and use books. Others say as computers are advanced, libraries are a waste of money and recourses. Discuss both views and give your opinion

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

It is common for some people to believe that libraries are an important source of collecting data by reading books, while others argue that it is better to use digital technology for that instead of wasting money and time on libraries. In my opinion, I agree that advanced technology can be the best for gathering information but libraries are still as important as ever.

On the one hand, it is true that digital technology can be very convenient and informative as it has a range of information on the internet. To explain, it is easier to search for data on the internet as it only requires internet access rather than commitment as you need to go to the library. Regarding the amount of data, digital technology is the best as the internet is very huge with millions of websites and with a diversity of information that libraries can not provide. However it may not be as reliable as libraries because of a lot of false information on the internet.

On the other hand, libraries can be the only place where people are able to concentrate in case of many people who have no tranquil place to study because of some problems. Moreover, libraries can be more reliable than the internet as the information in the books are checked by the government before letting it to print making it the second advantage. However some of the disadvantages may be that the information is likely to be outdated or changed throughout the time making it useless to read or considered to be a waste of money and resources.

In conclusion, I believe that digital technology is good on its own factors like convenience and range of information but still library plays and significant role for students in their education process.
