Adventure tourism, such as mountain climbing and deep-sea diving, has become extremely popular among young people. Some individuals debate that such activities should be banned. However, I believe that adventure tourism should not be discouraged, instead, it is vital to improve safety measures.
It is evident that adventure tourism frequently causes injuries and risks. For instance, mountain climbers can be swept away by an avalanche, be exposed to extreme cold, or deep-sea divers can face dangerous sea animals. Some risk-takers who attempt to do this kind of activity without a guide or basic knowledge may face serious danger. If you do not know all the risks of adventure tourism, you should think twice before doing it. Therefore, discouraging adventure tourism seems adequate.
Nevertheless, extreme tourism can be useful in many ways, such as physical and mental development. For example, because of an adrenaline rush person can feel happiness, decrease their anxiety level, improve self-esteem. Moreover, with a trainer’s assistance and high-quality equipment the level of accidents will dramatically fall. Therefore, governments should pay attention to, notably, providing clear rules, supporting sports centers where athletes are training safely without injuring themselves. If governments provided special centers for risky sports, there would not be a lot of accidents. This way, people can enjoy challenging activities and at the same time minimize all the risks.
In conclusion, although adventure tourism can be harmful and hazardous, it offers physical, mental and emotional benefits. Consequently, adventure tourism should not be banned, but needs clear rules and specialized establishments.
