In contemporary society, it is argued that AI (Artificial Intelligence) is transforming to the point where teachers will no longer be needed in the near future. While it brings numerous benefits for the education process, from my perspective, I firmly disagree with the statement that teachers will be replaced due to these following reasons.
First and foremost, one significant advantage of AI in shaping academic performance is its capacity to personalise the way of studying. With the rapid advancement of technology, AI is able to analyze students’ learning styles and abilities, thereby giving suitable assignments which are suitable for their demands. This approach not only provides students more opportunities to practice but also enables them to access challenging duties. Besides, another reason lies in its high availability as many online learning foundations operate 24/7.Thanks to its function, students can perform according to their personal method of learning, practice whenever they want and surpass many temptations of distance. For example, my 21-year-old cousin of mine struggled with time balance between university and work; However, with the help of AI teaching, she spent almost all of her night learning Chinese. As a result, this approach led her to the top priority and enabled her to get the highest academic performance.
Conversely, it is undeniable that teachers are not without their benefits. The primary reason is interpersonal connection factors, which is not replaced by AI. Educators serve as hugely important figures who both inspire students’ motivation and encourage morale. Taking my sister as an example, she found difficulty in completing assignments during school hours because of directionlessness. Thanks to the homeroom teacher’s aid, he motivated her by always noticing the problems she struggled with and also empathized with her when she got bad marks. Consequently, it not only strengthens bonds among people but also helps her to retake direction. Additionally, tutors occupy an indispensable role in shaping students’success. They have the potential to foster essential skills by monitoring strict regulation. Teenagers are instilled with a sense of discipline when they go to class or hand in schoolwork in time, in addition to widen communication skills such as giving presentations.
In a nutshell, even though AI brings numerous benefits to education such as providing assignments and available functions all the time, I firmly believe that there will be no replacement for teachers in the future as they not only give students motivation but also improve them a sense of discipline. However, a teaching method of combination between teachers and AI can be a reasonable solution to promote students to achieve their academic goals.
