Nowadays, higher education plays a pivotal role in young people’s lives. It allows them to specialise in one particular field and to learn essential skills.
Free higher education has a lot of benefits, however it shouldn’t be free for everyone. First, higher education should require the necessary basic foundation, skills and knowledge. If it would be free for everyone, there would be a vast majority of students who are not willing to study, that wouldn’t appreciate the value of higher education and increase the number of unqualified students. For instance, some candidates can not qualify the requirements of some universities because of lack of skills and can reduce the motivation to study, competition among best students .That’s why, they need to choose a place where they would study properly, according to their degrees and skills.
Second, it can show just the number of graduates, not the quality of work. It can lead to increasing unemployment, with the lack of necessary skills and work places. So it can cause some problems in society, such as the shortage of qualified specialties and experts, and companies would have to teach them again, before hiring. Thus, they wouldn’t make a good choice and then would complain why they are not studying properly.
In conclusion, I disagree with the free higher education system, because everything does not come easily, and everyone should make an effort to reach their goals, and try to qualify the requirements of the education, to not loss the value of them.
