In the recent era of industrialization, the world is facing multiple environmental issues like climate changes, global warming and water pollution . Some people are of the opinion that governments should address these issues, while others believe that individuals’ action can make a bigger difference in solving the issues related to the environment . In my opinion, the role of government in finding solutions to these issues is greater than an individuals’ effort.
One reason to support my opinion is that governments have more resources to solve the issues regarding climate and weather on a larger scale. For example, to address the issues of flooding, governments can take aid from international organization in times of any environmental crisis, an example of which is the recent thunderstorms and rains in United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia. Additionally, by the governments also have the advantage of allocating a portion the annual funds towards the preservation of natural habitats and environment building . Hence, governments can make a greater impact in solving these issues.
Other people are of the opinion that an individuals’ efforts can make a better surrounding . The reason of this opinion is that environmental issues are the result of peoples’ own actions. For example, diseases spread when the surroundings are not kept clean. Similarly, water pollution is a result of industrial spillage, so if people , on an individual basis, take measures to prevent it, water pollution can be reduced. Moreover, people can also organise and participate actively in raising awareness amongst themselves regarding environmental hazards. As a result, more people can become literate and prevent actions that can increase these issues.
In conclusion, although it is strongly believed that one person can take bigger actions in solving environmental problems, I am of the opinion that governments’ actions are long-lasting a ND more consistent. The issues regarding environment are well-addressed by the government, as they can draft new policies, utilize more resources and collaborate internationally to produce healthy.
