Many people are of the opinion that the government should be responsible for health care and education, however, others are more drawn to the idea of individual responsibility. While both have equally valid points, I personally believe government cater for her citizenry.
On the one hand, in most countries, people pay out of pocket for hospital and school fees. This may be burdensome for many because of how bills are exorbitantly high, especially among low- income earners. For example, Parents that are financially poor or are petty traders can not afford to foot outrageous treatment and tuition fees. When they try, feeding, paying for electricity and other basic requirements that make life better becomes difficult. Thus, may result to poor nutrition, malnutrition, specially growing children. Besides, the health seeking behaviour, as well as interest to acquire basic knowledge drops. Consequently, falling back to quacks and half- baked professionals for their treatment and tutorial.
I, on the other hand, support those who drives towards the government paying for all and sundry. Workers and traders are taxpayers, and a greater percent goes to ministries of health and education. To protect the society from falling ill and reducing level of illiteracy, they should be insured. Where scholarships and free-health care are offered. With this method, people can quickly access care without stress and afford not to fall sick frequently, also builds intellectuals and academic experts. More precisely, a healthy and literate population means a healthy workforce, which drives productivity and more economic output in turn.
To conclude, individuals paying their own fees can be daunting, depriving other essential needs. As far as am concerned, authorities should provide the hospital and school bills of everyone, because it produces a healthy and well knowledgeable society, yielding positive results.
