Nowadays, surfing the net is considered to be a great opportunity of being in touch with users all around the world. However, some people claim that we need to focus more on offline communication. I fully agree with this statement as the lack of social interactions can lead to the increase in the number of soft skills that modern men and women can gain.
From my perspective, it is essential for individuals belonging to different age groups to have an understanding how to make contacts in real life. For instance, there is a huge number of youths who prefer texting in messengers and social medias to having a face-to-face conversation with their peers. Undoubtedly, that fact makes the whole process of socialization much more difficult. The internet provides us with the opportunity to ignore a person if we do not want to talk with him. Obviously, it is impossible in the real world, so they do not have a knowledge of how to deal with such moments. For that reason, it will be more complicated for them to integrate into society as they are not used to these situations.
As for mid-aged people, they are getting more interested in remoted jobs as the internet has all the necessary tools for work and they are able to spend less time on commuting. Although, this way of working may not fulfill the requirements of certain customers. For example, there are some businessmen who prefer to have a real contact with a representative of a company before signing a contract. In that case, the ability of making presentations and negotiate offline can become a key factor that effects the decision of a client.
In conclusion, I would like to say that the unstoppable development of the world-wide network has some drawbacks which influence the way we communicate on a daily basis. As an expected result of it can cause problems with teenagers’ adaptation to society and issues with completing an employee’s tasks.
