Nowadays, the learning of various languages has been increasing because of medium of education and work opportunities in abroad. In this essay, the opinions of some people to educate the children with their own country’ literature than others are discussed. I would agree that parents should taught native language books to their children.
In particular, importance for literature is increased significantly. I fully agree that the literature of their own country should be taught priorly than foreign countries’ literature because it can reach children effectively than others. Being written in mother tongue, literature can be easily understood by anyone. Tamil is one of the ancient languages in the world which has enormous and valuable books of moral education. For example, Thirukural written by Thiruvalluvar in Tamil language is popular and contains information about life lessons. Instead of reading foreign books, people can learn their own country’s books. This practice is helpful not only for understanding of ideas easily but also to protect our tradition. Additionally, heritage and culture are taught to the students through ancient manuscripts.
On the other hand, foreign countries’ authors may write their poems according to the environment around them. Some people believe various ideas are leant by exploring multi lingual books. It is advisable to learn about our surroundings and livelihood of the people in the country which can be taught by writing of our ancestors.
Even though, useful lessons are in other countries’ literature, it is important to explore the ideas of books in their own country.
