Investing in the education area has sparked significant debate in recent years. While some individuals claim that resources should be used to equip modern technology, others think that educators need to take priority. Personally, even though advanced equipment could bring considerable merits to schooling, I still believe that the role of teachers is more crucial and that they deserve to be invested in more.
On the one hand, it is undeniable that not only do students benefit from technology, but also teachers. This is because modern appliances could help lessons be more interesting and engaging, creating a comfortable learning environment for students. Therefore, they would pay more attention to lectures and gain knowledge more comprehensively, thanks to videos and pictures being shown on slides, leading to better performance in education. In addition, these technologies could also aid educators in teaching. For instance, they could use slides to show notes instead of writing on boards, saving more time and effort.
On the other hand, I strongly believe that more resources should be allocated to hire good teachers. The reason for this is that some of them always earn less than what they truly deserve, regarding the efforts they have put in and their diligence. Aside from teaching at schools, they have to prepare lectures beforehand, grade assignments, and homeroom teachers also have to be mental assistants for students. Moreover, educators are experts, so they could analyse students’ abilities to offer suitable advice and teaching methods, making it essential to distribute more funds to teachers.
In conclusion, education is an important area in which resources should be allocated thoughtfully. Despite significant advantages that state-of-the-art technologies bring in, I still think educators play a more vital role, and they should be at the top of schools’ agendas.
