Some individuals stay on an opinion that manufactures are responsible for their plastic packaging production. Others believe that it is consumer’ responsibility to stop buying goods which involve a lot of plastic packaging. In my point of view both – manufactures and consumers are liable for destroying the environment.
The producers have a huge responsibility to use less packagings. Firstly, reducing the plastic wrapping means cutting of the costs which is positive for it. Furthermore, recyclable plastic may have a positive influence on the marketing, because it is more attractive for consumers to buy eco-friendly goods. The producers should stop using plastic for decreasing the carbon footprint. For example, there is an eco-friendly innovation implemented in every German supermarket net like Rewe and Limpdt. There is a tax on every bottle – 0.25 Euro, which can be returned after giving back the plastic bottle in specialized recycle machines. After this governmental regulations the plastic wastes have been reduced twice.
The consumers should be aware of the extent of environment significants. Individuals can start with simple changes to their shopping habits, such as preferring the products with minimal packaging or those with biodegradable materials, avoiding single-use plastics. Consumers also have the power to influence the market by supporting companies that prioritize sustainable developments. This can put pressure on companies to be more environmentally responsible, as they may lose customers
I stay on an opinion, that consumers and manufactures have the same influence on the environment. The supermarkets and manufactures should implement new eco-friendly innovations in their production. However, consumers also should understand their responsibility and support these changes.
In conclusion, reducing plastic packaging is a complex problem that can find the solution only in multi perspective way. By working together, manufacturers, supermarkets, and consumers can create a more sustainable future with less environmental impact
