A healthy lifestyle is the vital aspect that can promise a happy and long life. Even tho we want to achieve health related goals as a community, it is essential to start making wise decisions as individuals. Increasing the number of sports facilities it is indeed a solution that can improve the overall public health. However, for a better result there are more efficient solutions that can be approached, such as hydrating stops, promoting healthy food and nutrition explanation programs affordable for everyone.
Making available more sports related opportunities can encourage people to have a more active lifestyle. Nevertheless, the financial implication can still be a problem, that is why I consider that there should also be provided some minimal no cost sport activities. For example, Switzerland is world known for government’s attitude towards its people and they also covered this issue by having weekly free hours in the cities gyms. The numbers of people involved in physical activities increased significantly after only some months from starting this project. Therefore, I consider that facilitating access to active life motivates and gives the chance to citizens to actually do it.
Conversely, public health also involves nutrition awareness. There are several tested ways of spreading nutrition related information. For instance, the new fictional program “We are better together” was published on a website and can be accessed by anyone without any restrictions. After two months of testing the website, the owners affirmed that numbers of people tend to increase week after week. As a result, the population is aware of vital details and aspects related to their alimentation. Being informed help individuals make wiser decisions and that leads to an significant improvement in public health.
In conclusion, I believe that increasing the number of sport facilities will make a positive difference in public health, however more awareness towards nutrition will benefit the overall situation.
