Children are the future of the current generation and it is necessary to teach those values and ethics. Therefore many individuals believe that fostering a sense of healthy rivalry in pupils is a must; while other fractions of mankind on belief in teaching companionship to the learners. In my opinion, both skills are essential for students. My inclination is elaborated in further paragraphs with suitable examples.
Building a feeling of competition among scholars would benefit them in many ways. The first and foremost reason behind implementing this notion is that it encourages them to do hard work. In other words, students could be inspired to do their best in academics or sports by looking at their competitors’ progress. The second reason for promoting healthy competition in the student-body is that it inculcates self-confidence and self-independence in children. More precisely, feeling of contest drives disciples to have self-confidence in themselves as well as they would make or do things without hesitation of failure. For example, many premium schools organize academics and sports competitions to motivate registrant and it helps them to find their hidden talents and skills and makes them believe on these abilities.
On the contrary, co-operative skills are also important as the sense of competition. As human need these skills to stay with other people. Cooperation leads school-child to develop many skills. For instance, by becoming co-operative, scholars can develop many skills such as teamwork, team spirit, co-existence, tolerance, and patience. Moreover, many successful business tycoons have a helping and sacrifice attitude. Additionally, only promoting competition between students may create bifurcation among peers, and there might be chances of jealousy and personal grudges for classmates.
To recapitulate a discussion, it is certain that both skills, healthy competition and co-operation, are essential for pupils. Thus, I strongly believe that instead of encouraging one of them among classmates, teaching both is beneficial for schoolchildren. As it motivates and gives self-confidence with the spirit of teamwork and tolerance.
