It is argued that the major goal of education is to prepare individuals to be useful members of society. Although some believe that it should help them to reach their personal aims, I think that education should be a way to encourage individuals to be helpful not only in their countries but also around the world.
There are several reasons why I think that education should be used for preparing people to be beneficial in their societies. First of all, the unemployment rate will be decreased dramatically. Not only does it raise the rate of healthy living, but it also increases economic growth, especially in developed countries. For instance, allocating resources to education to make people useful in society can increase job opportunities and decrease the rate of crime and divorce. In addition, these individuals can improve facilities that make ordinary people’s lives easier and more convenient. For example, providing public transportation for poor individuals can ease their commuting and traveling in their countries.
In spite of these arguments, some people think that education should be allocated to individuals to achieve their personal ambitions. This approach can make them more motivated and concentrated on their studies than those who want to be useful members of society. Also, the rate of successful people will be raised significantly, but their achievements may benefit only their family members. For example, the rate of poverty will be diminished only among people who spend money on their relatives.
In conclusion, I totally think that education should be a method to make individuals useful not only to their family members but also to other people in their societies.
