Band 5+: Some people say that what children watch on TV influences their behaviour while others say the amount of time children spend watching TV influences their behaviour.

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

People have different opinions whether what kids see on tv has some effect on their behaviour or how much time they spend in front of the box influencial to their manner. While some individuals believe strongly that period of time has more impact, I am an advocate of the opinion that the television content has more significant impact.

On the one hand, it is undoubtedly the case that children tend to spend a majority of their day and life by watching some tv programmes or movies, which invariably has effect on their acts. Initially, passing the period of time by watching tv makes youngsters miss an opportunity to acquire new skills or knowledge. For instance, modern child tends to watch cartoons, rather than interact with peers. Therefore, youth is unable to improve his some social skills, such as communication and interaction with peers, and also deprived of outdoor activities, always leading to obesity. As a result, they will be slow to develop many social skills that are considered essential for their lives.

On the other hand, it seems to me that the program’s content influences youngsters most. Firstly, every programme has his own age category audience. These days it is really common for children to have access to movies and programmes that they arr not allowed to watch. In most of the cases, such programmes can contain tha acts of violience or addictive substances, which is inappropriate for youths. Moreover, because of having weak mind, children are easily influenced by their favourite hero’s behaviour. By trying to look up to nim, they often obtain unsuitable way of behaving.

In conclusion, although both two factors have negative impact on kids, I believe that the content is more considerable.
