The question about the importance of sporting activities has long been a topic of debate. While some believe that the significance of sports are limited to entertainment, others think it is a lot more than just a relaxation hobby. I personally agree with the latter notion, as regular physical training improves cardiovascular, respirational and mental health overall.
Critics consider physical activity to be a mere relaxation game. They argue that the type of chemical called dopamine, which is responsible for happiness hormones, released merely contributes to our enjoyment and contentment. For instance, they think that professional athletes who spend most of their times for training possess insufficient skills in other areas that require brain work, such as problem solving and analytical reading. Consequently, sportsmen’s abilities are usually restricted to physical superiorities. Therefore, they believe sports’ only use is leisure.
On the contrary, being involved in sporting activities brings about various benefits. Not only it makes a person physically stronger and flexible, it also improves cognitive functions and memory retention. For example, one research details that the children who were exposed to physical training from young age demonstrated lower risks of heart and breathing illnesses in later stages of life as well as showing better performance on academic disciplines. By playing sports, they can both enhance their bodily and brainly functions. Thus, I believe, physical exertion is the core component of life that everyone should implement in their daily lives.
While some argue that sports’ advantage is restricted to relaxation and leisure, others believe that it contributes to mental and physical development. Personally, I side with the latter view. Active involvement in sporting activities enhances both intellectual and corporeal capabilities.
