There has been an ongoing debate on the impact of university education on the career of an individual. Many people think it is crucial to complete university, while others do not agree with this. Both the options as well as my opinion on this is discussed in the following paragraphs.
Proper university education holds an important place in an individuals’ life. First and foremost, university not only teaches a student just the knowledge from the books, but also makes students more responsible, disciplined, and accountable in their lives. University enables students to find a way to succeed in their life by allowing them to work on complex problems that they would not have encountered otherwise. Besides this, university holds a major role in shaping the student’s future. During college, students get to try out various different fields, and look for what suits them the most. They also get a chance to work in a team, for example, where they learn how to communicate with others and work more efficiently, which will be helpful in their success.
However, many believe that graduation does not hold much importance in the success of students. One of the major arguments given by them is the difference between the knowledge provided by university and the required skillset to work in industries. There is a vast difference among both, the schools teach only the basics of any subject, while the industries do not need the basics, they are looking for employees who have mastered the required skill set. Additionally, the time spent by students during graduation could be spent better at mastering a skill which is required by the industries. For instance, a person who has spent four years learning coding on their own will perform better in any industry compared to someone who spent the same time at a university.
In my opinion, university is the most important phase in ones life as it teaches various things other than just the studies. Also, it provides students the time they need to wisely choose the career path they want to.
In conclusion, although there is a debate, university does play an essential role in shaping a successful future for any individual. Moreover, university is the time to have fun before entering the corporate world, so everyone should complete their university education.
