Band 6+: Some people spend a lot of money on tickets to go to sporting or cultural events. Is this a positive or negative trend?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

In recent years, there has been a noticeable rise in the amount of money people paid for sporting and cultural events. While this seems to be a waste for some persons, I believe that it has several positive aspects for both individuals and society.

Regarding sporting events, spending money on tickets to these events allows individuals to experience the atmosphere and energy of live events which cannot be replicated by media. For example, attending a live major sport event like a world cup match with friends would be not only more exciting and engaging but also, creating lasting memories rather than watching from home. Furthermore, the income generated from ticket sales could significantly support the sports in various ways, including the development of the facilities, enhancing the quality of services and organizing future events.

On the other hand, cultural events such as theatre performances or a visit to an ancient museum would have a profound effect on people, offering a unique opportunity that enriches one’s awareness and understanding of different cultures. For instance, visiting the three pyramids in Giza would provide tourists with a precious background about how the Egyptian old people built these such giant constructions. This can lead to raising the feeling of belonging when one knows about their rich cultural heritage. Additionally, the fund from these events can help in cultural maintenance. This can be achieved by doing new projects and educational programs which, in turn, contribute to preservation of cultural traditions.

In conclusion, despite the fact that a few people may disagree on spending money on sporting and cultural events, I am of the opinion that these events have numerous benefits which include enhancing personal experiences and promotion of community and cultural growth.
