One important factor is that factory farming increase efficiency of the production. When traditional farming requires more worker and time, technological advancement offers convinience and high profits. Beyond productivity, scientific progress in modificating crops to be more durable or disease resistant, could upgrade the quality of the products. These inventions can be a new discovery to ensuring food supply. Therefore, modern agriculture is crucial to improving food security.
Despite the benefits of agricultural improvements, there are strong arguments for the risks of the modern farming techniques. Intensive farming procedure can led to significant environmental impact and moral concerns. Modern agriculture can stress water resources, lead to desertification and degrade land.
