People have different views about city planners whether they should focus on more green areas and plantations or build new housings. While there are some benefits to constructing modern houses, I would argue that it is better to create environmental sustainability for every building.
On the one hand, it can be debated that residential homelands should be constructed by city planning projects for several reasons.Firstly, it can reduce the number of homeless people, resulting in city’s cleanliness and living standard equality for everyone. Secondly, the various job opportunities can be achieved through the construction of new apartments. Mega City Project in Hlaing Thar Yar township is a good example of city development in Yangon, Myanmar, invalid tents and shops on the main road are removed, and new buildings are allocated for government offices and citizens. Consequently, creating new living spaces can boost economic growth and occupants’ life of a city.
On the other hand, it can be argued that city planners should concentrate more about on green surroundings for the long run of city. Public areas containing parks, lakes, and playgrounds should be added to city development which can offer a chance to relax, and recharge with a fresh atmosphere to residents. Moreover, new trees should be planted beside the streets to absorb greenhouse effects emerging from city infrastructures and traffic vehicles. For instance, sustainability is mainly focused on the whole city of Singapore by facilitating green environments with plants and trees, which can bring benefits to give fresh air for not only residents but also visitors around the world.
In conclusion, although new building construction can solve issues concerning the huge population and city economy, creating green environments should be prioritized for long term city sustainability.
