The idea that authorities should forbid dangerous sports such as skydiving and rock climbing has generated considerable attention in recent years. While some support this view, others have a different opinion. I firmly disagree with this perspective, and in this essay I will outline the reasons behind my position.
The main point to consider is that people should decide whether they should engage in a dangerous activity or not. Additionally, it would be unfair for individuals if the government takes away their right to participate in risky sports. Also, even if the government bans the access to dangerous sports, still people will find a way to participate in such activities. For instance, they will go to other countries where sports like skydiving and rock climbing are not prohibited and perform those sports there. So, people can still engage in dangerous sports if the government bans it.
Another point to consider is that instead of forbidding the sports, authorities should increase the safety precautions of dangerous sports. In addition, people will feel much safer participating in dangerous sports. Furthermore, the government should make full body check-ups mandatory before performing high risk sports for individuals, which will minimize the risk of injury. Moreover, there are different solutions available to reduce the risk which will be more effective than banning a sport.
Therefore, I firmly believe that the government should not ban sports such as skydiving and rock climbing. Additionally they should explore other ways to minimize the risk associated with dangerous sports.
