One of the hotly debated issues in society is healthcare, while some individuals think healthcare must not be paid, other part of the society believe everybody should settle money for their medical services. This essay will examine both views, before arguing.
On the one hand, many people support free healthcare because they believe it is a basic human right. People who face financial constraints may not be able to afford expensive treatment, which can lead to serious health problems. Consequently, charging patients for medical services may widen inequality between rich and poor. Moreover, free vaccination programmes protect not only individuals but also society by reducing the spread of infectious diseases. Likewise, nobody should be refused treatment during a medical emergency simply because they cannot pay.
On the other hand, some people think that citizens should contribute to the cost of healthcare. They argue that this would reduce unnecessary hospital visits and provide extra funding for hospitals. As a result, governments could invest more in modern medical equipment, improve healthcare facilities, and offer better salaries to medical staff, leading to higher-quality services.
In conclusion, although both views have advantages, I believe that healthcare should be free because everyone deserves access to basic medical treatment, while optional services can be paid for by patients.
