Band 6+: Some people think people working in creative arts should be financially supported by government. Others think they should find financial support from other resources. Discuss both sides and give your own opinion.

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Some individuals believe that it is the government’s duty to financially support creative artists, while I believe this should come from other channels like self-funded or scholarships from universities.

The government certainly has the funds to do so, many proponents claim that creative arts belong to the part of the city and contribute aesthetic values to the area, as well as attracting many tourists and therefore developing tourism. On top of that, these artists also paid taxes to the country, so the government should reciprocate them financially as this will also benefit the government in the future and create more job opportunities. In a word, they think financial help to the creative art is generating more money for many local people.

However, there are many approaches for art creativity to develop. The fellowships offered by universities are various and in considerable numbers, which can cover most of the expenditure and even have more opportunities since universities have many academic relationships with professional people and platforms, which could not just subsidize creative artists, but also many precious chances in the future for them. Meanwhile, people who want to study more about this field can fund themselves as well, if they can afford to do so because this will be more flexible and won’t be constrained by any organization or others, which allow these artists to inspire new ideas freely.

In my opinion, I think the funds from the government should be used for other more important perspectives for instance defense-related science and technology as this is the fundamental element to a nation’s stability. No more than many societal organizations and academic institutions have already set related funds with enough financial supply.

In conclusion, government resources should be used for society’s welfare and country construction as the existing purpose is to manage the area rather than expensing money for entertainment because there are funds designed for recreation particularly already.
