Opinions are divided on whether kids should be raised with awareness of environmental protection by educators or family members. Some argue that education affects children’s behaviors more than their own families by learning various lessons. Even though I am concerned about this notion, I believe that both schools and families should teach children about environmental protection.
It is true that parents are the most trustworthy for toddlers due to the close bonds. According to this, children could be guided about recycling and avoiding waste. For example, a 5-year-old child would classify litter or hand it to their parents if they were told. However, the assumption that being taught by families is mutually exclusive from the education at school is flawed. Due to the fact that children’s thoughts and behaviors can be influenced by the adults around them, not only their mothers but also their teachers. By using printed books, teachers can deliver the knowledge of recycling to students, and the youth could gain this knowledge through their academic years. Moreover, when kids see the waste classification being done by their teachers, they will copy the educators’ behavior the next time.
Therefore, I believe that children should be nurtured by both families and schools in order to achieve the main objectives. By teaching the younger generations about recycling and avoiding waste at school, kids can experience the straightforward way to complete their projects about the environment. Additionally, parents can bring a sense of value by sharing and paving the way for them to become conscious citizens.
In conclusion, the knowledge about environmental protection through recycling and avoiding waste for kids should be provided in both professional and personal settings.v
